On July 25, the “Bridge of Friendship: Greater Bay Area and European Youth Leaders Co-create the Peace Vision Tree” event was held in Zhongshan, Guangdong.

One of the highlights was the Chinese classical dance performance “After the Rain”, which captivated the European youth representatives. Dancers portraying the iconic characters of the White Snake and Green Snake from Chinese folklore became a popular   photo spot for the attendees.

As 2025 marks the Year of the Snake in the traditional Chinese zodiac, the legendary tale “The Legend of the White Snake” naturally comes to mind. The performance begins with sunlight breaking through after the rain, setting the stage for the story: two   snake spirits—White Snake and Green Snake—transform into graceful maidens and journey to West Lake in Hangzhou. Their deep sisterhood, combined with the misty beauty of West Lake, is vividly brought to life through elegant choreography.

Dancers Liu Yinglin and Huang Yutong shared that their goal was to express the timeless elegance of classical Chinese aesthetics and convey the charm of traditional Chinese culture.

“This is a sign of friendship,” said Aleš Waltritsch, a European youth leader from Italy. “It’s wonderful to discover a new culture and appreciate this dance—it’s a present I’ll bring back to Europe.”

Kristina Emelianenko, a musician and dancer also from Italy, said she was thrilled to witness Chinese traditional dance, instruments, and martial arts. “Traveling and discovering new cultures is a way to see the world through someone else’s eyes,” she   said. “The most incredible part is how these experiences make us more open and friendly to the world.” 7月25日，“友谊之桥·大湾区与欧洲青年领袖共绘和平愿景树”活动在广东中山市举办。活动现场，中国舞节目《雨后》惊艳亮相，中国古典舞演员分别饰演中国传统传说中的“白蛇”和“青蛇”，吸引了欧洲青年代表们纷纷合影留念，成为现场最热门的“打卡点”。

2025年正值中国农历的蛇年，提及“蛇”，人们自然会想起经典民间故事《白蛇传》。舞蹈以雨后初晴为开篇，白蛇和青蛇这两位拥有法力的蛇精化身为美丽的女子，踏上前往杭州西湖的旅程。姐妹情深与烟雨朦胧的西湖美景，在舞蹈中一一呈现。舞者刘颖琳与黄宇桐表示，希望通过这支舞蹈展现中国古典美，传递中国传统文化的独特魅力。

来自意大利的欧盟商会联合创始人亚历山德罗・瓦尔特里奇（Aleš Waltritsch）表示：“这是一种友谊的象征。探索新的文化、欣赏这段舞蹈，这将是一份我带回欧洲的珍贵礼物。”

同样来自意大利的音乐人兼舞者克里斯蒂娜・埃梅利亚年科（Kristina Emelianenko）兴奋地表示，她非常开心能够欣赏到中国传统舞蹈、乐器和武术，“旅行与探索不同文化，是用全新视角看世界的机会”，她补充道，“通过发现和欣赏新文化，我们能以更友好、更开放的姿态来拥抱世界。”
